Paranormal Census #10 – Apports, Premonitions and a Guardian Spirit

These are three separate entries submitted to us by David, a British gentleman who has had several things happen to him that are paranormal in nature. There is the case of an object apart; a very vivid dream premonition that immediately came true; and some unknown entity looking out for him when it was needed.

A message from the other side?

Here is David’s first testimonial regarding an apport he had in Great Britain. Apports are objects that mysteriously appear and are often regarded as being supernatural in origin. He had a feeling that this event was put on display especially for him and his family members by a loved one on the other side.

On the morning of my mother’s funeral I had left my lighter on top of my cigarettes on the sofa in the front room. I left the room for a short time, then I returned wanting to have a cigarette, but when I looked on the sofa the cigarettes were there but the lighter had gone. I looked all over the sofa and floor for it but it was nowhere to be seen. At this point I shouted upstairs to my wife (who was the only other person in the house) if she had been down and took it. She said she had not been downstairs yet. I remembered we had a spare lighter in the kitchen, so I went in and got that one. When I returned to the front room to get my cigarettes there on top of them was the original lighter. Now I had spoke often to my mother about all the paranormal experiences I had had and I had told her the only thing I had not experienced was an apport.

A dream premonition

David’s second experience also occurred in Britain. In this experience, he had an unusually vivid dream that caused him to contact people right away to warn them. Unfortunately, that warning came too late.

One night I had a dream that I was walking towards a school I went to as a kid. As I walked around the corner I saw a traffic warden just walking away from a red car parked in front of the school. When I walked up to the car I saw a parking ticket and noticed the numbers on the ticket.
When I woke up I was convinced that someone I knew with a red car was going to get a parking ticket. I started texting people I knew with red cars to warn them to watch were they parked in case they got a ticket. A few hours later I got a text from my sister-in-law saying “The night before she was staying in a hotel in Liverpool and the only place she could park was outside a school. When she went to return to her car, as she turned the corner a traffic warden was walking away from her car and yes she had a ticket.” I told her about the numbers I saw on the ticket and yes they were on the ticket too. What makes this strange to me is the fact that it was as if I was seeing it happen from her perspective, not as if I was watching her turning the corner seeing the traffic warden etc.

An unseen protector

In David’s final testimony, this event happened when he was living in the United States. This event profoundly changed him as he realized he might jut have a guardian spirit looking out for him.

While I was working in Manhattan, NY, in the early 90s, I had a couple of strange things happen to me. I worked in Manhattan but lived on Staten Island; and to get to work or home I needed to take a bus from my home to the ferry, then the ferry to Manhattan and lastly a subway train to 34th street and 5th Av. On a couple of occasions I would fall asleep either on the Ferry or the bus ride on Staten Island. On one occasion, I fell asleep on the bus and went right the way around the Island and ended up back at the ferry terminal again. Also falling asleep on the ferry I went to Staten Island then back to Manhattan before waking up.
Now once while on the ferry I again fell asleep, but then as clear as day I heard someone say my name, which woke me up just as we were coming into the terminal for me to get off. I must say when I woke up I looked around to see who could have called my name but there was nobody around let alone someone who knew my name. The second time this happened was while on the bus on the last leg of the journey, again I fell asleep and again I heard clear as day someone say my name. When I looked up it was just as we were coming to my stop so a bit groggy I got up (I was the only person left on the bus) and in my groggy state as I passed the driver I said, “Thanks for shouting me.” It wasn’t till I got off I realized that the bus driver could not known my name.
Now I believe that the times I fell asleep and stayed on the bus/ferry until I woke up naturally it was safe to do so, but the two times I was woken was because if I had stayed on something bad would have happened, so I needed to be woken. Guardian Angel???

David had some rather uncommon experiences on multiple occasions. What is fascinating about this field is that when someone has a paranormal experience, they seem to be more likely to have additional experiences. We don’t know why some people are affected in this manner more than others.
