This is a series of contemporary experiences that have occurred to an American named Cassandra. She has had a series of experiences over the last few years that have left her hopeful, and at times, terrified.

We know a lot of our readers have had paranormal experiences, so please feel free to share them via our census form!

Precognitive Dreams

A lot of people “get feelings” about things, but rarely share them or document them in any way. Cassandra had an experience that was so vivid, it stuck with her and she had to share it. This precognitive vision is fascinating because it happened as foretold in the dream.

I am confused by this one because I had a dream about someone that I don’t live near and although they are a friend, I don’t consider us besties or anything. I knew my friend was trying to conceive, she had been for years after successfully having one other child.

One night I dreamt that I was looking through her eyes and she’d had an exam, the doctor told her she was pregnant and I woke knowing the gender of the child, a male. I felt a strong overwhelming compulsion to tell her this dream even though otherwise I felt it would have been insensitive given her circumstances. I didn’t want to get her hopes up.

I shared my dream with her after agonizing over it for a few days first. She didn’t respond with much, just hopefulness.

A couple of weeks later she announces her pregnancy and I told her the rest of the dream, that it was a male child. A few months later she announces that it was indeed a male child.

I don’t know why I was given this information and i’ve never had a dream quite like this before or since. I have had one other that was about me and other than that I get “feelings” of when things happen. I don’t know why and it’s never often.

Not every dream can be one hundred percent accurate. Sometimes things are slightly different, or vastly different from the envisioned event. Cassandra experienced another precognitive dream, but it was slightly different from the outcome.

I dreamt I had a baby boy and woke up feeling the urge to take a pregnancy test, which ended up being positive. However, I had a baby girl LOL.

I have had “feelings” in the past. I knew when my grandpa passed away, but I didn’t know I knew until afterward. I was randomly thinking about him in class in the morning and get home that afternoon to find he’d passed that morning.

Another time I felt a sense of impending doom and had a flashback of déjà vu where I’d seen a family wrecked in a car, a man sprawled on the side of the road in a white shirt. We were out and about at the time, driving and I urged my husband to get home as soon as possible, something horrible was about to happen and maybe to us. A few hours later I got a phone call that my uncle, who had just survived a successful surgery, suddenly passed away.

I also knew when my grandma passed away, I felt it in my body and my mind I got the news.

Malicious Poltergeist

Cassandra also experienced what may be considered poltergeist-like activity. He experiences were not pleasant. They involved black mists, being touched, and objects being thrown.

The first entry is about a black mist that managed to form and physically touch Cassandra, possibly with the intent of doing harm. This experience left an indelible mark on her memory as it was so scary.

I frequently saw figures in my house, shadows at all times of the day and night. I had these experiences as a small child up until my teenage years and all in the same house, never outside of that house.

I was in the bathroom fixing my hair, getting ready for bed and as I looked in the mirror a black mist rose behind me. I saw what looked like the height and width of a person, but no figure, just mist. However, an arm reached out and around my neck, the hand to grab at my neck. I turned around and nothing was there. This all happened so quickly, in less than a second or two, but I remember it very vividly. It was the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my life.

The next experience involved more poltergeist-like activity in the same house. This time, there was another witness to the events that occurred.

An object was thrown at Cassandra and barely missed her head. She recognizes that she was the focus of the activity a the paranormal event happened to and around her. When we are talking about poltergeist activity, we would consider Cassandra to be what’s called an agent.

I was sitting at my desk in my bedroom at the computer. It was around dinner time and my sister was nearby putting clothes into the dryer. We shared a room, it was divided by two armoires that stood next to each other to give us a “wall” of privacy.

I was nowhere near the private part of my room, we could see each other and in fact, we were having a small conversation across the room from each other.

Suddenly, three things happened at once. I felt the air zip passed my ear, it touched my hair it was that close, my sister screamed and I heard a crash on the wall in front of me. She was stunned, horrified, scared and screamed at me “did you see that?!”

I did not. I only felt it.

I stood up to look at what crashed into the wall and fell behind my desk and it was a jewelry box that had been on top of one of the armoires. It was my jewelry box, one my still-alive grandmother had given me. It was ceramic and shattered into pieces.

I had already been looking to move out of the home because everything seemed to happen around me and to me only so I took that as a personal attack to get the heck out and fast.

These types of hauntings can be quite serious. Poltergeist encounters have left people physically hurt, property destroyed, and possibly even fires at a home. If you are ever experiencing poltergeist-like activity, or other serious haunted activity, send us an email! We might be able to help you find a reputable, local investigator to help with your issue.

We want to thank Cassandra for sharing these experiences. These types of experiences, and other sent in as census entries, continually show that the paranormal does not discriminate. Anyone can be affected by paranormal activity at any given time.

If you have had a paranormal experience and would like to share it, please take a couple minutes to fill out the survey. It is important to the field to share experiences because it helps us all learn.
